Even UMNO Veteran Leader said UMNO is RACIST!!

KOTA BARU: Umno is now perceived by many to be racist because its leaders cannot articulate effectively to the masses about the pre-Independance social contract, nor can they defeat abuses of the New Economic Policy (NEP).

Umno has lost its intellectual capacity to address misgivings among Malaysians and this has led to a perception that it is a racist party.
To further compound this, Umno leaders have lost credibility in the eyes of the public following the stunning losses in the March 8 general election, party veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah said.

Speaking on Saturday at the opening of Kelantan’s People Action Council (MTRK) forum on Independance at the Grand Riverview Hotel, the Kelantan prince said it has now become common to see people define Umno as a racist party.
Why it has reached such a stage can be traced to three reasons, Tengku Razaleigh said.
The first is because parties with self-interests capitalise on the definitions of freedom and human rights to portray Umno as racist besides condoning a mischievous interpretation of the Federal Constitution.

The second is the complacency of Umno leaders who have allowed certain quarters to question the social contract and while rebuffing critics, Umno has not been able to shake off the stigma of been perceived as racist, he said.
Thirdly, there is no sincere effort to address the misgivings and misinterpretation over the definition of racism in the country.
Racism is where one race advocates hatred against the other and its actions underpin it, such as when the Nazis executed the Jews, explained Tengku Razaleigh.
''Umno advocates none of the above. It has never sought to close down any vernacular schools in the country. It knows how to co-exist with other races but yet, it is perceived to be racist,'' he said.

Umno needs to reinvent itself by upholding the social contract when studied through, is designed to be fair to all races, he said.
Tengku Razaleigh said many non-Malays believed that Umno or the Malays are the drivers of Malaysia.
''Of late, the Malays have become reckless and bad drivers until the Government is branded as inefficient,” he said.
Tengku Razaleigh said another step towards reinventing the party is to restore the moral credibility in the party.

''Is it too late? I hope not but Umno must come to terms about regaining the trust of the people. It must be seen as trustworthy.''
Corruption is an open secret in the country either through the public sector or within Umno until it has become a crisis to the party where only rich candidates would be voted while competency is ignored, he added.

Later, he said there is a need for stronger leadership in the country as it would prevent certain quarters from raising questionable issues which can further divide rather than mend relations among Malaysians.

Police in Malaysia is becoming like Gestapo during the WWII as they listen to order from UMNO like Nazi! Shame on them!

The Royal Polis force of Malaysia is behaving more like the Gestapo (The official secret police of Nazi during the Second World War) as thety seems to take order only from the UMNO party and not serve and protect the people (Rakyat) as they are supposed to be!

They practice corruption and close one eye when the UMNO people is behaving like hooligans but on the other hand, arrest others who raise their disagreement with the government abuse of power and money. They are the true bandits of the country. What a shame!

A idiot Minister who don't even know who much a household spent on electricity!

Shahrir Abdul Samad, Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs:

Don't act like a Idiot by talking nonsense, who the hell in Malaysia use only RM 20 per month unless you steal the electricity! Or rich man who don't stay in the house! The allocation for this will only fall into UMNOPutera pocket!

Before becoming the minister, he was quite smart but after that.......he is just another idiot (or in fact a smart guy) who wanna fill his own pocket!

shahrir samad 250907The government will give RM20 free electricity for poor home owners only. We are not copying the Selangor government that gives RM20 free water without considering they are poor or not. We are giving to those who do not actually use a lot of electricity, that fall in the income bracket that really needs help.

We have for those who need help that can't improve their lives in the economic position. It is the government's responsibility to increase the social safety net. That is a group that needs help and assistance and by assisting those behind the poverty line including pensioners who can't really find any other way to increase their income.

But for those who are above that line, particularly in the employed public sector, the budget is encouraging the employers to give benefits that can be claimed as a deductible expenses from their taxes. So it is a direct way for the private sector to be more productive.

Penans in Malaysia are neglected by the BN government! Shame to "Taik" (means shit) Mahmood CM of Sarawak!

TIMBER COMPANY LIKE SAMLING AND SHEN YANG GIVE OUT SALT TO PENANS FIRE VICTIMS

MIRI: The 600 Punans who were made homeless when a fire razed their longhouse in Ulu Tatau, central Sarawak, said they felt hurt, insulted and humiliated when a timber giant gave them aid in the form of packets of salt.
The hungry and tired victims from Rumah Ado, located five hours by timber road from Bintulu, had been appealing for help from the Government and some timber companies operating in the Tatau district after the fire on Thursday.
Yesterday, the manager of a private logging consortium, which has its headquarters in Sarawak but with several overseas projects, handed the fire victims two packets of salt each.
Punan leader Penghulu Sanok Magai received the salt at the fire site in front of hundreds of victims.
Meagre help: Magai showing the packets of salt given as relief aid for fire victims by a timber company in Miri yesterday.
Magai was shocked but kept his cool and even managed a smile as he politely accepted the bags of salt.
However, the Punan National Association is fuming mad and its publicity chief Calvin Jemarang described the act as cruel and heartless.
“Why must this timber company insult the fire victims like this? If it is reluctant to give any aid, then do not give anything,” he said.

“These victims are homeless, have little food and drink and their future is uncertain, and yet this timber company humiliated them like this.”

Relief aid has been slow in arriving. The Bintulu Welfare Department has been sending rice, clothing and noodles in limited amounts because of logistic problems.
Jemarang appealed to politicians and private firms to give more aid.

This is how the people of Malaysia suffer! Corrupted and disgusting BN Najis and Pak Habislah!

Malaysia had one hope this coming Tuesday 26 August 2008!

This will be the only hope of Malaysian in 51 years to free ourselves from the dictatorship of UMNO and BN puppets like MCA and MIC! It is indeed a historical point but the people of Permatang Pauh had to make sure they elected a leader for change or else the country will be an slave to UMNO for the many years to come.

No one showed trust the PAk Habislah... who is useless and not trust worthy as he could say one things and do another the next moment! It is really important that we should teach the UMNO and BN a lesson that they should not take people's view and welfare for granted.

I urged all Permatang Pauh to vote for Keadilan and justice for the country.

Doggy policemen is a shamefor the country and a tool for Najis to stopped Anwar from winning the by election!

Controversial blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin's house was once again raided by the police. This time in connection with a statutory declaration made by a doctor from Hospital Pusrawi.

A five-member team from the Bukit Aman police headquarters arrived at the blogger's house in Sungai Buloh at 8am. They confiscated a laptop computer, a scanner and some documents.
According to Raja Petra, this is the fifth time that the police have raided his house.
"The laptop which they confiscated the last time has yet to be returned to me," he said when contacted.
On Aug 1, Dr Mohamed Osman Abdul Hamid, a Burmese national, had filed a statutory declaration standing by his medical report which ruled out that Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan had been sodomised.
Saiful was examined by Osman before he lodged a police report on June 28 claiming that PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim had sodomised him.
In his statutory declaration, the doctor claimed that he had fled the country with his family following several visits by the police.

Khairy is the doggy in law of a useless and no principle prime minister of Malaysia....

Anwar Ibrahim, PKR candidate for Permatang Pauh, can stomach the personal attacks from top Umno leaders - he expected it. However the barrage of abuse from local Umno leaders, has made him quite distraught.

He said it was heartbreaking to know that certain local leaders - whom he regarded as friends - have abandoned their conscience and have chosen to batter him blue just for mere political gain.
"The local Umno leaders have forgotten that I was once their friend.
"They have sold their soul, lost their dignity and self-respect by attacking me merely to enhance their political interests," he told a rally at Permatang Tok Kandu in his by-election campaign trail - which saw yet another large crowd turnout and what is becoming common, police aerial surveillance.

Anwar recollected his days in office - when these now highly critical leaders were always trying to be close to him.
The days of being deputy prime minister, finance minister, Umno's national deputy president, Penang liaison committee chief and Permatang Pauh division chief before his sacking from government and party in 1998.
"Before 1998, these same people would follow me ever where, will shake hands with me and greet me with ‘Datuk Seri, Datuk Seri.
"They would be very possessive and protective over me, would not allow others to come near me.
"But today, they hitting me hard with all sorts of accusations," Anwar expressed.
Samseng son-in-law
In his speech, he took the opportunity to respond to statements from Umno Youth deputy chief Khairy Jamaluddin, and according to Anwar was behaving like a hired ‘Umno samseng' (gangster) entering the by-election campaign late.

"He (Khairy) suddenly makes an ambush ala mafia here and starts attacking me, calling on me to swear on this and that.
"Who's he anyway? Ulama, imam or religious scholar?
"He is a mere ‘menantu' (son-in-law)," he said, chiding the Rembau Member of Parliament of trying to win the best samseng title in Umno Youth, in view of the wing's election late this year.
Anwar faces Seberang Jaya state assemblyperson Arif Shah Omar Shah from Barisan Nasional and Angkatan Keadilan Insan Malaysia (Akim) president Hanafi Hamat in a three-cornered by-election tussle.
Anwar is the firm favourite but he faces the onslaught of the BN and its ‘stop Anwar at all cost' campaign for the remaining four campaign days.
Polling is on Tuesday Aug 26.

Najib the Najis thought the Chinese and Indian are stupid to vote for him again!!

Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak made a plea to the Chinese and Indian communities in Permatang Pauh - come back to the Barisan Nasional's fold.

MCPXHe told them to reject the opposition and vote for Umno's Arif Shah Omar Shah in the Aug 26 by-election.

And he had one more word of counsel - do not gamble with your children's future by supporting the opposition candidate who had been making false promises.

"Do not be easily hoodwinked by the opposition promises and fall for their trickery because if we were to believe them, we will be quarrelling with each other," he told members of these two communities in Permatang Pauh yesterday.

He admitted that voters from these two communities had deserted BN in the March 8 general election, blaming that on the communities being unduly influenced by the opposition.

It was time to support BN again, he said.

Permatang Pauh, a semi-urban constituency in Penang, has 58,459 voters, consisting some 69 percent Malays, 25 percent Chinese and six per cent Indians.

He promised that the BN would champion the Indian and Chinese communities' cause in the constituency as they had been neglected by the opposition.

The 2 very different personality which share the same view...Malaysia need to be save by people power!

Two more prominent individuals have voiced their support for opposition stalwart Anwar Ibrahim, who has been charged with sodomy.

Former Indonesian president Abdurrahman Wahid (right) and former US Supreme Court judge Sandra Day O'Connor and said the recent developments in Malaysia were reminiscent of the 1998 campaign.

In a column for the Financial Times yesterday, the duo said: "The power to prosecute is one of the most awesome powers of the state. Without proper checks and balances it can easily be abused by those in power to humiliate and discredit innocent people."

"Even when the injustice is corrected, its victims are often left with their reputations permanently damaged.

"In Malaysia, the power to prosecute is being used to try to discredit Mr Anwar, the remarkable leader of the opposition, victim of a similar attack 10 years ago."

If this effort succeeded, Abdurrahman and O’ Connor (left) said it would be a tragedy for Anwar personally, the people of Malaysia and the world.

Yesterday, the PKR leader was charged in the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court for having carnal intercourse against the order of nature.

After pleading innocent, the former deputy prime minister was released with a personal bond of RM20,000.

The charge, preferred following a complaint by Anwar’s former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, carries a punishment of up to 20 years' imprisonment and canning if found guilty.

Integrity of the judicial system

On Tuesday, the opposition leader accused Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi of orchestrating a sham trial in a bid to cling on to power. The latter has denied this.

Anwar claimed that the charge was baseless and called it an attempt by his political rivals to prevent the opposition alliance Pakatan Rakyat from coming into power.

Meanwhile, Abdurrahman and O’ Connor said on the brink of Anwar's political comeback in the Permatang Pauh by-election, his enemies have fought back with new sodomy charges.

"We find it impossible to believe these charges. We know Anwar as a man of integrity and we appreciate the way he has spoken on behalf of freedom, democracy and human rights.

"The charges are inconsistent with everything we know about his character," they argued.

The Malaysian authorities, the columnists said, need to recognise that there is no way that continued pursuit of these charges can be viewed as credible, given the history of prosecutorial abuse and manipulation of evidence in the earlier proceeding against Anwar.

"His political future should be decided at the polls, not through some suspect prosecutorial proceeding.

"We are deeply concerned that the safety, freedom and reputation of an important leader in the Muslim world are at risk.

"So, too, is the integrity of Malaysia's judicial system and along with it the credibility of the government in general. The future of Malaysia as an example of success for the developing world and for the entire Muslim world may be at stake."

Abdurrahman and O’ Connor expressed hope that Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi - who "showed wisdom" earlier in facilitating Anwar's release from prison - will manage to drop the charges and in so doing serve the interests of justice for the people of Malaysia.

I hope Chandra can stopped making comment on the fairness of the democratic system when it is never fair to start of with.

First of all, let me remind all readers that the current government in Malaysia and even the democracy in Malaysia is at fault because it is not true democracy when you can have a member of parliment voted by just a few hundreds people versus one by ten of thousands of people and still consider as 1 vote in the parliment. That is why the BN candidate are usually from the village and had the mentallity of the frog under the coconut shell when looking at all issue.

I hope Chandra can stopped making comment on the fairness of the democratic system when it is never fair to start of with. It will just showed how narrow minded you are or you may be just another wolf hidding in the sheep skin for UMNO!

MESSAGE BELOW FROM MALAYSIAKINI

A former close associate of Anwar Ibrahim has criticised the opposition stalwart’s attempt to become prime minister through the 'back door' by instigating massive crossovers.

Political scientist Dr Chandra Muzaffar, who was also the former PKR deputy president, described this as unethical and undemocratic.

"A cabinet established through such an avenue will lack moral credibility. Parliament itself will be tarnished.

"Both the executive and the legislature - two vital arms of governance - will be perceived by the people as institutions that are bereft of integrity," he was quoted as saying by Bernama.

Chandra said acquiring power through the back door would demean and denigrate politics and added that Anwar had no mandate to oust the democratically-elected government of the day.

The academic also accused the PKR de facto leader as being consumed by a single-minded obsession to become the country's prime minister in the shortest possible time.

This, he added, is the driving force behind is effort to persuade at least 30 Barisan Nasional MPs to switch camps immediately.

"The size and scale of the crossover he envisages is mind-boggling. Has there ever been an instance anywhere in the world where a government which has 58 seats more than the combined opposition is under the constant threat of imminent collapse simply because an individual - who is not even in Parliament - boasts continuously that a certain number of MPs are going to switch sides by a certain date?" he asked.

Anwar has declared his intention to contest in the Aug 26 by-election for the Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat which could pave the way for his return to Parliament after a 10-year hiatus.

The opposition leader's political career came to a grinding halt in 1998 when he was sacked as deputy premier and Umno deputy president.

However, after the March 8 polls, Anwar once again stamped his mark as a relevant political force in the country and public expressed his intention to become prime minister.

Have respect for the voters

Meanwhile, Chandra said it was this incessant drive to topple the government through crossovers that had created so much uncertainty in the country in the last few months.

"If the threat of crossovers hangs like a Sword of Damocles over the nations head, it is partly because many Malaysians know that Anwar as a BN and federal government leader at one time had played a pivotal role in the overthrow of the democratically elected PBS state government in Sabah in 1994," he said.

Chandra stressed that although Anwar had stated that his enticement did not involve money or other allurements, it would still be morally wrong for a legislator to cross over since it would be a betrayal of the voters trust.

"In a democracy, a legislator elected on a particular platform should return his mandate to the people and resign his seat before he switches sides. That is what respect for the dignity of the voter means," he said.

Chandra also said it was a pity that such 'despicable politics' has been condoned by so-called principled politicians and committed human rights activists around Anwar.

"They should have tried to convince him that it is more honourable to enter Putrajaya through the front door. This implies winning the 13th general election at the federal level and forming the government through legitimate, ethical means," he said.

Chandra said if Anwar was to enter Parliament after the Permatang Pauh by-election, he should try to bridge the gap that separated the Pakatan Rakyat parties and provide them with a unifying vision and programme of reform that would go beyond cliches and platitudes.

"One hopes that he will also, as opposition leader, establish a shadow cabinet that cajoles and coaxes the BN government to introduce much needed changes.

"This is what the people would want him to do. Anwar has no mandate to oust the democratically elected government of the day through the back door," he said.

A tribute to the Useless and brutal government and police in Malaysia!

A nation in disgrace because of its disgraceful leaders who is sitting under the coconut shell! Pak HabisLAH and NAJIS!

The federal government was very upset when the US issued warnings about “due process fair play in the new Anwar Ibrahim trial, especially by the media.” Their caution and concern was only that Anwar be given a fair, transparent and open hearing in the yet unsubstantiated complaint.

I am frankly amused by the PM’s argument that we are a sovereign nation and have our own laws and therefore immune to international evaluation. And he implied that the US should not be interfering in Malaysian internal affairs. Frankly, that is not the issue. And this is a wrong argument. The real issue and cause for the warning, justifiably so, is the trial by the media and false accusations and assumptions being made by the leadership. In the international legal system, and based on our adopted standards, every person is innocent until proven guilty. Both Anwar and Saiful Bukhari Azlan are innocent until one is proven guilty, under our Malaysian laws. The issue is not whether sodomy is a crime or not. The problem is that all mainstream interpretations and arguments make Anwar look guilty and Saiful the ‘poor victim’. Why are not both given due and fair chances to prove their innocence or guilt? Both are adults and must be given a chance to defend their dignity and integrity.

Let me therefore make two comparisons to make my point. There were two reports made against two public figures in the recent past. One by Saiful against Anwar, and the other by Raja Petra Kamarudin against Rosmah Mansor and her two apparent partners. All parties must be seen as innocent by the law, until proven otherwise. What is amazing to me, and I suppose to any outsider observing Malaysia, and not just the US government, is that in the one case, the PM literally cleared one person of the potential crime, almost without an investigation, whereas, in the other case, the accused was treated like a criminal even by the police before the investigation was complete.

Watched globally

More ridiculously, the PM went further to declare that the deputy prime minister and his wife were not involved in the said case against the dead Mongolian lady. How does he know, when the case is still ongoing? To me, for now, only God knows.Even sovereign nations do not live in darkness or within the shades and shadows of justice, especially in the inter-networked world. Every action of every public individual is being observed and watched by the global community for standards of due process and whether just values are applied. Whether it is Robert Mugabe or former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic, the world wants similar standards of justice to reign for the preservation and protection of human dignity. After all, this is the era of human rights and human dignity.

Is that not why we set up a Human Rights Council in Malaysia? The US system understands and appears to stand by these global standards, although their government too is far from perfect. They too have weak or corruptible human systems. But at least they have an almost impeccable system of separation of powers and due process jurisdictions between the legislative, executive, and judiciary. They have checks and balances that we do not yet seem to have. How else could we have had one leader who reigned so presidentially over all three of our systems, with almost absolute control and impunity in the last 20 years, especially since 1988?

The net result of that era of abuse of authority and power was the decline in our standards of justice and jurisprudence. We seem to have inherited a one-eyed view of justice. In Malaysia, the judicial system appears to keep one eye open and the other one shut. One can use either eye as the case may require! Regardless of which system of justice we follow, the burden of proof must belong within the courts and without interference of any external party, whether the Legislature or the Executive or even the Administration. In our system, we appear to have very corruptible systems, or actually, already corrupted systems as demonstrated by the Lingam tapes inquiry. Therefore, when the US government speaks against the backdrop of “such global standards of justice,” they are not speaking as one country, but rather on behalf of all citizens of the world who support the values and virtues of a good and healthy democracy.

Glass houses
In such matters, the sovereignty of nations is not the issue. Rather, we all live in glass houses and as much as we throw stones at others, we must expect them to throw stones at us. Why else would any sovereign nation go to the International Court of Justice to seek resolution over any border issue? Was our sovereignty sacrificed by this effort? Or, was this the more mature and civilised way to resolve an outstanding issue? It appears to me as a Malaysian citizen, as well as to global watchers, and especially those who respect and protect human dignity, is that Anwar Ibrahim appears to be a victim of various political intentions. No one is really sure who the real actors and perpetrators of the evil intentions are, but it has become obvious that they exist and appear to be pulling all the strings. If Malaysia really is genuinely concerned about global perceptions and our credibility as a sovereign nation, we should become fully transparent and invite international observers to follow and agree with the respective tests and procedures being applied without fear of favour. In this age of information, which is filled with knowledge and even wisdom, this is a typical case which need not be tried in public over the media. It could even be done in private but with international observers and global standards of investigation, if our real concern is for truth and justice to prevail.

But, instead, if we take a katak di bawah tempurung approach, wherein the coconut-shell becomes the limit of our sovereignty, the rest of the world will forever remain curious, and we could easily become the new pariah in the international arena of law and justice. At the end of the day, we can declare ourselves sovereign, but we remain so only when other brother states view us with equal respect and integrity. No state can be an island unto itself, within the large sea of nations and continents. That is why we have the United Nations as the final arbiter of truth and justice between nations.

Interestingly therefore, it comes as no surprise to me that the Human Rights Council of Malaysia may be downgraded based on the Paris Principles, for non-adherence to those very principles which define human rights and dignity. The sovereignty argument cannot protect us because human dignity of every person is given and preserved by the Creator Himself.

How can a country be under ruling of the 2 most corrupted individual in the whole country....Pak HabisLAH and Najis!

Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his deputy Najib Abdul Razak will be asked to give statements to the Anti-Corruption Agency following a report lodged against them by an Umno man yesterday.

ACA director-general Ahmad Said Hamdan told reporters in Penang that the statements from the two top leaders would be taken soon. He did not specify when it would be done."All our investigations, which are facts-based, are carried out without fear or favour and in a transparent manner regardless of the person's status and our arrest track record speaks for itself," he said, as reported by the Star Online.Yesterday veteran Umno leader Mazlan Harun lodged the complaint against Abdullah and Najib - also the top two leaders in Umno - for alleged abuse of power.

He claimed that both Abdullah and Najib had abused government machineries to garner support among Umno members in a bid to sustain their positions in the coming party elections. The complaint was based on an open letter written by Umno Petaling Jaya Selatan division chief Zahar Hashim and addressed to the party's secretary-general, demanding that both Abdullah and Najib be disciplined for allegedly abusing their power.

Probe ongoing against Musa, Gani

The ACA director general also issued a warning to complainants about them disclosing the contents of their reports to the media. He said that such disclosure would jeopardise investigations."This is actually an offence under the Anti-Corruption Act."Action can be taken against the complainant if the report is not true or made with malice. We will not hesitate to charge the person in court," he said.Ahmad also said that investigations were underway on the report against Inspector-General of Police Musa Hassan and Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail over Anwar Ibrahim's black-eye incident in 1998.Both Musa and Abdul Gani have been questioned by the agency following a complaint by Anwar that the duo had tampered with evidence 10 years' ago.Anwar was also summoned to the agency to give his statement.
